  • • ½ cup Coronado Cinnamon Dulce de Leche, plus more for drizzling
  • • 4 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • • 2 tbsp water
  • • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • • 1 block cream cheese, room temperature
  • • 10 6inch small flour tortillas
  • • toothpicks
  • • 4 cups cooking oil
  • • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • • ½ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation Method

  1. 1. Bring a pot to medium heat. Add 4 diced apples (roughly 4 cups) with 2 tbsp water, ½ cup Coronado Cinnamon Dulce de Leche, ¼ cup brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp nutmeg, and 1 tbsp cornstarch. Cook for 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. 2. Using a hand mixer or spatula, mix 1 block cream cheese and ¼ cup powdered sugar.
  3. 3. Spread 1 tbsp cream cheese mixture and 1 tbsp apple mixture on a small flour tortilla. Secure with a toothpick.
  4. 4. Carefully place rolled tortillas in cooking oil in a medium Dutch oven to medium-high heat, and working in small batches, fry the taquitos for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  5. 5. Remove from oil and let cool, remove toothpicks.
  6. 6. Drizzle with Coronado Dulce de Leche.
